Visibility - up to 30 meters

The water clarity is best between November and March when it can reach around 30m.

Kenyan waters are not as clear as can be found in other parts of the world and this can be mostly contributed to the nutrient rich nature of the water.

We believe that slightly reduced visibility is a small price to pay for the marine life sustained by it.

Water Temperature - Tropical

Kenya is on the equator so you can expect tropical water temperatures, these vary between a minimum of 23 degrees Celsius to around 28 degrees Celsius depending on depth and season.

The average water temperature is 26 degrees celsius, the coolest times are June - September and the warmest times of year are October - February.

Seasons - 2 instead of 4

As with other tropical countries Kenya has wet and dry seasons rather than the four seasons of temperate countries.

Rainy Seasons
We have two rainy seasons, the long rains (April - May) and the short rains (October - November). That does not mean that it will rain all day or every day, it is common to have days of sunshine or even days when it only rains in the morning and is clear afterwards.

Winds
Our weather is also dependant on the wind. We have three winds:
the kusi (August - September),
the kaskasi (March - July) and the
matahali (October - February). The matahali brings with it the calmest water conditions.

However, like the rest of the world, weather cannot be guaranteed to run on schedule.
